the extended competency framework
Introducing Significant Issues Groups
Through discussion with PCTs we have identified parts of the framework in which PCTs want to extend
their competence and are setting up, in conjunction with partners, multi-disciplinary groups to
work on these.
These Significant Issues Groups will draw directly on PCT and front-line experience in carrying out
three tasks:
- draw up the advanced competencies PCTs need to deliver
- design a tailored, practical programme of support to enable all PCTs to achieve these
- see that these programmes are implemented
