Jane
Keep is a leading practitioner on the processes
of strategic change in the NHS and the wider public sector. She
has studied, researched, taught and practised HR and organisational
development for over 13 years at a senior level in the NHS (having
worked in the public sector for 23+ years).
Jane has also
worked at national policy level and is highly experienced at working
with individuals, small and large groups (Boards, and all groups
of NHS professionals). She has also undertaken a number of research
and action research projects, written some key HR papers and OD
research evaluation papers for the NHS. She has had brief spells
of working overseas such as in Hong Kong, Africa, Europe and Eire.

She has an MPhil
in critical management where she studied ethics and values in the NHS
. Her work in values includes researching with the Kings Fund on the organisational
values network which culminated in a chapter of a book Jane Keep and John
McLenahan (2002) Organisational Values: a case study in the NHS (in Hidden
Assets: values and decision-making in the NHS edited by Bill New and Julia
Neuberger, Kings Fund). Her work in values has extended over 13 years
predominantly on participatory cultures and values based change/leadership
in the NHS workplace.
She has a masters degree in Organisational Development,
as well as being the co-editor of a book on ‘Organizational Change
& Development: A reflective Guide for Managers, Trainers & Developers’.

Financial Times. She also has a keen interest in reflective practice and
evidence/research based OD and change. She also has extensive experience,
and has researched into learning networks, action learning and action
research.
Her recent case load as a freelance OD researcher/practitioner
includes the work co-Leading the Engaging Communities Learning Network
with Bob Sang for NatPaCT, a piece of evaluative research on the impact
of a leadership/OD programme for WIC, and many organisational change,
values based, development projects within healthcare organisations/PCT’s
including coaching, mentoring and working with groups of healthcare managers
and clinicians on action/evidence based/reflective learning.
